How we tested these family organizer apps
Last tested September 2026. I ran a two-adult, one-shared-calendar setup for three weeks, then asked a relative on an older iPhone to add one event and one grocery item without me in the room. Devices were an iPhone 16, a Mac, and that older phone. The tasks were school pickup, a repeating trash night, and a grocery list with things crossed off from the store.
TimeTree won the 'relative added the event' test. Cozi won the grocery list, and the calendar was fine once colors were set. Google Calendar won setup speed and lost the list, because there is no list. I wrote the milk on a note and immediately felt the gap.
I did not test Cozi Gold end to end, Android tablets in a kitchen dock, or families larger than six. Notification settings on a teenager's phone will undo any of these. That part is parenting, not software.
